PNHS in Top 25 Horse Shows by N.A.R.G.![]() At their Annual Meeting held Tuesday, January 31, 2012, the North American Riders Group (NARG) announced the results of their evaluations of top shows in the US, Canada and Mexico. Evaluators rated the shows on Footing, Technical Aspects, Marketing, Stabling, Financial Aspects, Jumps and Courses, Ceremony and Miscellaneous. The Pennsylvania National Horse Show is pleased to have improved its overall ranking to 6th place. The goal of the Pennsylvania National Horse Show Association is to keep this show a premier event by not just getting bigger, but always getting better and to remain dedicated to the horsemen while engaging and education the audience. NARG recognized that both show management and the Board of Directors are clearly committed to this effort as seen by its scores improving across the board. Beginning with Junior Weekend (October 11-14, 2012), the show brings hundreds of junior riders to Harrisburg where they compete for coveted National Titles. During Adult Week (October 15-20, 2012), spectators will find celebrated American and International riders competing over challenging courses including the World Cup event, "The Grand Prix de Penn National". "We are pleased to be recognized by the North American Riders Group and continue to be motivated to improve the experience in Harrisburg for both the competitors and the spectators," notes Liz Shorb, Pennsylvania National Horse Show President. "Understanding that the purpose of NARG is to effect change through constructive criticism, we embrace their vision of promoting and developing the top of the sport." The equestrian industry is important to Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Nationals economic impact on the community is significant. With its proceeds from the show benefitting youth and equine programs, the shows impact goes far beyond the arena.
